Don’t Hide Your Mina

Luke 19:20 says, Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept laid away in a handkerchief.
In this well-known parable, a master entrusted three servants with different amounts of minas, a form of currency in biblical times. The first two servants, given ten and five minas, faithfully invested what they were given and multiplied it 100-fold. However, the third servant selfishly hid his mina, failing to use it for any purpose.
In the same way, God has entrusted us with time, resources, gifts, and talents, He expects us to use His provisions to invest and reproduce. One of the very first commands God gave the first man and woman in Genesis 1:28 was to “be fruitful and multiply.” This mandate is still relevant today.
When we fail to use and share what God has entrusted to us, we are not only disobeying Him but also showing ingratitude for His abundant blessings. God loves us deeply and has given us so much, especially through Jesus Christ. The least we can do for Him, in return, is to use His gifts to invest in others who will also be fruitful and multiply, because of you.
In essence, don’t hide your mina. Use everything God has entrusted to you for His glory. Amen.
